They say that what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas. For some people, winning big at Pai Gow poker is what they experienced in Sin City, and contrary to the saying, they are bringing their cash with them when they leave.

Big Pai Gow Poker Winners in 2021

Here are some of the gamblers who have won large chunks of cash playing Pai Gow poker in Las Vegas.

Rosemarie

A Las Vegas resident, Rosemarie (no last name given) won more than $85,000 on June 18,2021 at The Orleans Hotel and Casino when she hit Boyd Gaming’s regional linked Pai Gow Poker progressive jackpot.

Rosemarie has been visiting the casino regularly since 2016. On the day she won, Rosemarie scored a seven-card straight flush, which earned her the jackpot. Also, she won an extra $1,000 from placing a fortune bonus side bet.

Another Las Vegas resident also playing at The Orleans Hotel and Casino won Boyd Gaming’s Pai Gow Poker progressive jackpot amounting to $160,873 on June 3, 2021. And on June 13, 2021, a player at the Aliante casino won a Pai Gow Poker progressive jackpot of $92,2993 after hitting a seven-card straight flush in clubs. This player netted an extra prize of $21,186 from a fortune bonus side bet.

Randall Needens

A resident of Colorado, Randall Needens was visiting Las Vegas in March 2021. It seems Lady Luck was on his side while he was playing Pai Gow at Palace Station Hotel and Casino. By hitting a straight flush — seven through jack of hearts — Needens won close to $233,000.

According to the casino, the Pai Gow progressive jackpot had been rising steadily since it breached $200,000 a few weeks prior.

Jose Loera

Fortune smiled on Jose Loera on the night of June 21, 2021. On a visit to Las Vegas from his home in Laredo, Texas, Loera was playing at Harrah’s casino where he won $138, 894. The hand that won him the progressive Pai Gow Poker jackpot consisted of five aces. When playing Pai Gow, the joker can function as an ace or as a card to complete a flush or straight.

Loera had been staying with family members at Harrah’s for a few days prior to winning the jackpot. He plans to use some of his winnings to pay off debt and enjoy the rest.

Anonymous Record-Setting Winner

In November 2019, Christmas came early to a player at the Paris Las Vegas casino. The unnamed player hit the Face Up Pai Gow Poker progressive jackpot, winning a record-setting $2,330,133. The lucky player’s winning hand contained a seven-card straight flush in diamonds.

The progressive connected four dozen Pai Gow Progressive tables across various Caesars’ casino properties across Las Vegas and elsewhere in the state of Nevada. These progressive and linked table games were also available at Harrah’s properties beyond Las Vegas.

Such an expansive network of linked tables brings several benefits to players. For one, jackpots grow at a fast pace and reach high amounts. For another, they offer more frequent payouts.
